A song in the late 90s goes…
"It's like rain on your wedding day. It's a free ride when you've already paid. It's the good advice that you just didn't take…..And isn't it ironic, don't you think"
That’s life. It’s ironic. Technology has brought a lot of changes in our world. We can now do more things easier & faster. Multitasking is possible. We can do most of our errands in autopilot mode.
Does that mean we have more time for ourselves? More importantly, do we have time to follow God?
We have the technology & time but when God calls, we reply with “WAIT LANG”. That's ironic!
The people in the bible did not have the gadgets we have now. But they said YES to God immediately.
- When Jesus said to Matthew "Follow me” (Matthew 9:9), Matthew "rose and followed him.”
- When God asked Abraham to offer his son Isaac as a burnt offering, Abraham "rose early in the morning, saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and his son Isaac” (Genesis 22:3)
- When God calls us it’s not “WAIT LANG”, it’s “OBEY AGAD”
Romans 8:32 says "He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all”
Everything starts with obedience.
The prophet Samuel preached "Obedience is better than sacrifice, to listen, better than the fat of rams.” (1 Samuel 15:22)
What is God calling you to do? JUST DO IT.
Have a blessed & joyful weekend! - alvinfabella@yahoo.com
