A WHOLE NEW WORLD

Allow me to share this truth - WHATEVER GOD SAYS, HAPPENS!
  • When God said "Let there be light, and there was light” (Genesis 1:3).
  • Jesus said to the stormy sea “Be still!, the wind ceased & there was great calm” (Mark 4:39).
  • HE cried out in front of Lazarus’ tomb “come out!” (John 11:43) & the once dead Lazarus came out alive.

I say again - WHATEVER GOD SAYS, HAPPENS!
Jesus says "You are the salt of the earth” (Matthew 5:13) in today’s Gospel. What the heck does that mean?
Salt was a precious commodity in ancient times. Today, we continue to use salt to add flavor & to preserve food.
But here is a not so popular use of salt during the ancient times. "Salting the earth" was a ritual of spreading salt on a newly conquered city or land. They would “salt the earth” to make it barren & inhospitable to future generations. This custom was widespread during the ancient times. The bible narrates to us what Abimelech did.
"That entire day Abimelech fought against the city. He captured it, killed the people who were in it, and demolished the city itself, sowing it with salt” - Judges 9:45
So what does Jesus mean when HE says "You are the salt of the earth”? We need to conquer lands for HIM & salt it so that evil won't exist in it anymore. We cannot be passive Christians. If something is wrong we have to call it out as wrong. We have to conquer the evil of this world with God’s goodness & love.
WE ARE CALLED TO MAKE A WHOLE NEW WORLD FOR GOD.
"You are the salt of the earth”! That’s what God says to you & remember, WHATEVER GOD SAYS HAPPENS!
Be the salt & bless "ALAT" of people starting this today! - alvinfabella@yahoo.com
