More importantly, has Covid-19 decreased your faith?
Jesus says to you “Do not be afraid.” (Matthew 14:27).
Your faith may have diminished but remember what Jesus said in yesterday’s Gospel. That you only need to "have faith the size of a mustard seed” (Matthew 17:20).
That is what Peter had. Jesus said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:31).
- Peter had little faith yet he was able to walk on water.
- Peter had little faith yet Jesus appointed him as the leader of His Church.
- Peter had little faith yet Jesus asked him to take care of His people (John 21).
- Peter had little faith yet Jesus saved him when he began to sink.
Jesus doesn’t wait for Peter to increase his faith before saving him. "Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand & caught him” (Matthew 14:31).
You may have SMALL FAITH but God’s BIG PROMISE is that HE will always be there to save you. God didn't promise a storm free life but God did promise that "I am with you always, until the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20)
So in the midst of your storm, honor Jesus by declaring “Truly, you are the Son of God” (Matthew 14:33)
